Skips

Following the decision by Conwy County Borough Council to cease the community skip, the Community Council have been looking at ways in which to reinstate a form of skip service for residents. Following several enquiries with commercial suppliers, it has been decided that providing a skip for residents is currently not viable. This decision has not been taken lightly but has been made on account of the doubling of costs, the substantial reduction in the size of the skip to be supplied as well as the restrictions on items that could not be disposed of (such as mattresses, TVs, fridges, freezer, liquids, tyres), many of these being items that the community would previously have used the skip for. It is not the decision that the Community Council wanted to make and should other viable options come to light these will be looked into.
