The Conwy Culture Centre project aims to create an innovative new centre of excellence for culture, heritage and the arts in Conwy County, based on the site of the Old School, Bodlondeb, in Conwy town.

The funding package for the project has now been finalised and planning permission is in place. Following a tender process Wynne Construction have been formally appointed and the Centre is currently scheduled to open in the Autumn of 2019.
The design shows a contemporary single storey building offering stunning views towards Conwy Castle and Walls. The green roof will blend into Bodlondeb Park’s leafy surroundings and its landscaped grounds will feature an external reading court and garden.
The Centre will be a gateway to the story of Conwy, staffed by an experienced and friendly team. Visitors can browse the library and heritage collections, explore the exhibitions; research local history; or simply enjoy a coffee against the stunning backdrop of Conwy Castle.
From one-off arts and heritage taster sessions through to accredited volunteering for all ages, there will be lots of opportunities to take part. We will also take the project ‘on the road’ bringing exhibitions and activities to communities across Conwy County.

Funding is available to assist interested applicants to purchase a property of the own choice on the open market by providing a homebuy loan of between 30% – 50% of the purchase price. Applicants will be assessed in date order registered onto the Tai Teg Register.

TCC MEETING 6th November 2018
Morning residents of Trefriw and Llanrhychwyn
As some of you may be aware, notice of the monthly Trefriw Community Council Meeting must be placed on the village notice boards at least three in advance of the meeting

The minimum three clear days for notice of a meeting does not include the day on which notice was issued, the day of the meeting, a Sunday, a day of the Christmas break, a day of the Easter break or of a bank holiday or a day appointed for public thanksgiving or mourning.
This hasn’t been done. We will therefore not be able to hold the regular monthly meeting tonight. On behalf of the Chair, let me extend apologies for this oversight.
I have contacted some members of TCC and we will be arranging a new date for the meeting asap – which will be posted on the village notice boards, facebook and the TCC website.
For those residents who wish to join us in the Village Hall between 7pm and 8pm tonight we will be holding an informal drop in session, for people to come and voice their opinions/concerns about village matters and to find out more about what the council do.
Just to be clear, this is not the meeting, and not in place of it, however, we hope that you may find it a useful opportunity to meet with the TCC councillors over a cuppa and a biscuit.

Conwy Library Service will soon be starting its survey of library customers. The survey aims to find out what people think about their libraries and help the Service plan for the future.
From 5 November until 10 November, library customers will be asked to complete a questionnaire which will ask their opinion about the library, and find out how they use libraries and access the many services that Libraries provide.
There will be a survey for adults and a separate survey for children and young people who are Library users.
The survey can be completed in all of Conwy’s 10 libraries and on the mobile library during the survey week.

The next council meeting is this Tuesday, 6 November. The meeting will last from 7pm 9pm with members of the public being allowed to speak in a 15 minute period at the beginning of the meeting with individual members of the public speaking for no longer than 3 minutes on one item only and with no duplicated topics unless with a different view point. Conwy County Borough Council is reviewing its Home to School Transport Policy taking into account the Learner Travel (Wales) Measure 2008 and wishes to consult on some aspects of discretionary provision. Post 16 transport is a discretionary service meaning that we are not required to provide the service be law.
