Notice of Conclusion of Audit and Right to Inspect the Annual Return

Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014

1.   The audit of accounts for TREFRIW COMMUNITY COUNCIL for the years ended 31 March 2022 and 31 March 2023 has been concluded.
2.      The original and complete copy of each annual return is available for inspection by any local government elector for the area of Trefriw Community Council on application to:

3.   A copy of the annual return(s) will be provided to any local  government elector on payment of the sum of £5.00.

Carols and Christmas Tree Lighting Up – 4th December 2022

Trefriw Community Council and Trefriw Walkers are Welcome invite you to come and join them at the Christmas Tree Lighting Up Event on Sunday, 4th December 2022.

There will be a family Carol Services at St Mary’s Church starting at 5:00 pm with the lighting of the Christmas Tree straight after the carols.  This will be followed by refreshments served in the Village Hall.

All donations received will go towards the local Food Bank.  There will also be a dedicated box in the Village Hall for anyone wishing to specifically donate an item towards the local Food Bank.

 

Trefriw Village Hall

In 2015 Trefriw Community Council took over responsibility for the Village Hall from Conwy County Borough Council.   A new floor (including insulation), new electric heating and LED lighting were installed in winter 2019.  A Village Hall Working Group is in place to monitor the condition of the Hall, identify funding opportunities and make recommendations to the Community Council for future development.  The Hall is Grade II listed.

2025 Notice of Delayed Audited Accounts

Publication of audited accounts for the year ended

31 March 2025

Regulation 15(5) of the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 (as amended) requires that by 30 September 2025, TREFRIW COMMUNITY COUNCIL publish its accounting statements for the year ended 31 March 2025 together with any certificate, opinion, or report issued, given or made by the Auditor General.

The accounting statements in the form of an annual return have been published on the Council’s website. However, the accounts are published before the conclusion of the audit. The Auditor General has not yet issued an audit opinion.

Mae rheoliad 15 (5) o Reoliadau Cyfrifon ac archwilio (Cymru) 2014 (fel y’i diwygiwyd) yn ei gwneud yn ofynnol, erbyn 30 Medi 2025, CYNGOR CYMUNED TREFRIW gyhoeddi ei ddatganiadau cyfrifyddu ar gyfer y flwyddyn a ddaeth i ben 31 Mawrth 2025 ynghyd ag unrhyw dystysgrif, barn neu adroddiad a gyhoeddwyd, a roddwyd neu a wnaed gan yr Archwilydd Cyffredinol.

Mae’r datganiadau cyfrifyddu ar ffurf ffurflen flynyddol wedi’u cyhoeddi ar wefan y Cyngor. Fodd bynnag, cyhoeddir y cyfrifon cyn i’r archwiliad ddod i ben. Nid yw’r Archwilydd Cyffredinol wedi cyhoeddi barn archwilio eto.

One Councillor Vacancy 

The Community Councillors are unpaid and give up their time voluntarily; when we have the full complement of members there are nine Councillors.  Seven members represent the Trefriw ward and two represent the Llanrhychwyn ward.

There is currently one vacancy on Trefriw Community Council for the Trefriw ward

If you live in the Trefriw or Llanrhychwyn wards and would be willing to be considered for co-option onto the Community Council, please contact the Clerk or one of the current Councillors for more information and an application form.
